Connecting on Your Path to Wellness
Hello, I'm Kevin and I'm delighted to share a bit about myself with you.

Working Through Play
I have always been drawn to play-based approaches. From early experiences as a camp counselor to community-based mental health programs focused on life-skills, I have seen first-hand how play is an incredible tool for healing.

For children & families, play therapies align with non-verbal and supportive approaches for children working through challenges, such as navigating neurodivergence or experiences of trauma.

For adults, going beyond talk therapy to integrate approaches like EMDR and experiential therapy - for example incorporating LEGO, drawing, or non-verbal work - we equally work on healing, but in a more enjoyable and playful way.
Who Am I?
I'm a registered social worker (RSW) & registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with the BC College of Social Workers and BC Association of Clinical Counsellor. I am committed to addressing the significant harm that social work has historically been part of, particularly in Black, Trans, and Indigenous communities in Canada. I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade, working alongside children, adults and families to find ways of healing, empowerment, and joy.

Before establishing Intersection Therapy & Advocacy, I dedicated my career to community mental health and humanitarian work in different parts of the world. My therapy approach has been influenced by these experiences, as well as the wisdom of community members from various cultures. This also fuels my passion for finding joy in human connection and humor, shapes my therapeutic practice for both children and adults.

A Holistic Approach:
As a trained EMDR & Play Therapy clinician, I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring them to the unique needs of both children and adults. Trauma manifests differently for each individual. In adult therapy, it can encompass experiences of isolation, shame, anxiety, fear, loss of control, anger, feeling like your 'loosing your mind' and much more. For children, it may involve feelings of feeling confused, sad, alone, and the weight of pressures like school or friends. While we can't erase trauma, we can certainly move forward.

A Space for Meaning and Joy:
Therapy is not just about addressing challenges; it's also a journey of discovering meaning, making sense of life, and finding joy. I embrace an approach that incorporates engaging activities and humor into our work. If you have any questions about my therapeutic style, please feel free to book a free consultation. I look forward to connecting with you, understanding your unique identities and experiences, and collaborating to support your well-being through therapy.
